“Wigs for Kids” was started in 2006 by some good friends who had a common goal. They realized that clearly there was a large physical toll that the cancer treatments had on the children, but they saw losing their hair took an emotional toll as well, especially on the teens. “Wigs for Kids” provides the funding to support the overall well-being of these patients. This could be by helping a child receive a wig when their hair falls out, or helping families pay for the financial burden put on them with the cost of feeding supplies and medications not covered by health insurance. All of these help to boost their confidence, allowing them to experience life with fun and dignity.
